What to wear and bring
We recommend girls wear a body leotard (without an attached skirt) or shorts and T-shirt. We recommend boys wear a T-shirt and elastic waist shorts. Participants should not wear buckles, belts, or zippers or jewelry. All participants must be in bare feet for safety reasons. Hair must be pulled away from the face into a ponytail with an elastic band.
What are the benefits of gymnastics?
Gymnastics is one of the best sports a child can ever experience because it builds strength, balance, co-ordination, flexibility, muscle-tone and a general boost to overall fitness. Gymnastics teaches self-confidence, body awareness and discipline. It also encourages athletes to set and achieve personal goals. One of the best cross-training sports in the world, gymnastics provides many wonderful building blocks that lead to and provide support for other sports. It’s also satisfyingly fun!

The $50 (plus HST) Gymnastics Ontario/Admin Fee is required to participate in any gymnastics program in Ontario. The membership fee must be paid once during the Gymnastics Ontario year, which runs July 1 to June 30. (This fee cannot be pro-rated).

No other sport association in North America provides such extensive coverage at this price. A valid Gymnastics Ontario membership is transferrable between any gymnastics club in good standing.

Could my child be a good candidate for competitive programs?
Dynamo’s competitive team is always on the lookout for youths who could be a good fit for our competitive program. Our club’s coaches assess students within our recreational program who might be good candidates for our competitive team, and we often do assessments upon request.
What’s the difference between recreational and competitive programs.
Recreational Programs are designed for participants of all ages from early childhood up to and including teen and adult programs. Competitive programs are ‘by invitation of coaches only’. Artistic and tumbling gymnastics is a challenging sport, demanding strength, power, flexibility, agility, courage, and a combination of technical precision and artistic creativity.
What makes a good candidate for competitive training?
Coaches seek athletes with natural ability, strength and flexibility, and gymnasts who possess potential for growth in the competitive stream. Family commitment to a long-term program is also a consideration when inviting students into the competitive program.
Who do I contact about competitive programs?
For information about our competitive program, please email us at info@dynamogymnastics.ca.
