Recreational Program Registration Policies
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENROLMENT:
Payments: All fees due upon registration. We accept cash, Visa, MasterCard and Debit.
Registration: Due to limited spaces, registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Registration is not considered confirmed until full payment is received. A $50 non-refundable admin fee applies once per training year – July 1 to June 30 (includes mandatory Gymnastics Ontario insurance fee). Registration must be made in full and in-person or online.
HST: All fees are subject to 13% HST.
Refunds: Refunds are offered for enrolment cancellations with no less than one week’s notice prior to start of first class. Mandatory $50 admin fees (plus HST) are non-refundable. Refunds not offered after start of the session. No cash refunds.
Cancellations: Dynamo Gymnastics Inc. reserves the right to cancel or change class times due to insufficient enrolment. Notice will be provided in advance. If we cancel a class due to insufficient enrolment, a full refund will be offered.
Inclement Weather: Classes may be cancelled in the event of inclement weather (example: when police issue notice to stay off the roads). No make-up classes, credits or refunds offered due to weather/power outage related gym closures.
Credits: Credits may be offered if approved by Dynamo admin. Credit only applies to remaining classes. Credits are not offered in the event a participant does not attend due to sickness or vacation.
Class Switch Fee: As of Spring 2015, only one class switch per student will be offered free of charge in a session. After the first switch, each request for a class change (initiated by the family) will be subject to a $10 fee (HST+). Any switches made by Dynamo will not be impacted by the class switch fee.
Make-up Classes: Make-up classes are not available in order to maintain coach-athlete ratios.
Discounts: Family discount offered off class fees: 5% for second child, 10% for third child (lowest prices, respectively). Family discounts do not apply to Camp programs.
Photo, Video and Social Media Policies: Protecting our Youth
In the interest of preserving the privacy, safety and well-being of all children and families participating in Dynamo’s programs, there will be no photography or video permitted during regular gymnastics programs.
Parents/caregivers will ONLY be permitted to photograph/video their own child during Presentation Week, (the LAST day of classes) and are only permitted to photograph their own child. Non-parents (friends, relatives and babysitters) must receive permission from parents of an athlete prior to taking photos/videos. Parents shall not publish photos/videos taken at Dynamo Gymnastics on social media/internet unless they specifically contain their child’s image ONLY.
If individuals are observed taking photos/videos during non-permitted programs times, our policy will be to request individuals stop taking photos/videos and request the photos/videos be immediately removed from the device.
Please note, Dynamo occasionally takes photographs/video of athletes for the purpose of marketing and/or club promotions, but will only do so with the expressed written consent of the athlete’s parent/guardian.
Flash photography is prohibited at any time, as flash can pose a risk of injury, as it temporarily blinds athletes.
The safety of our participants is of the highest priority, and if deemed necessary, we will report any unusual activity to authorities. We would also ask any member who suspects unusual activity, to report it to our staff.
We continually review and update our club policies to ensure the safety and well-being of all members.
Codes of Conduct: For Athletes, Parents and Staff
All athletes, parents and staff in Dynamo Gymnastics have the right to work, learn and achieve their goals and aspirations in an environment in which they are treated with care, respect, compassion and free of harassment or bias.
Athlete Code of Conduct:
- Gymnasts shall treat athletes, coaches, staff and members with courtesy and respect to maintain a positive environment where everyone thrives and succeeds.
- Gymnasts shall take pride, care and be proud of their training facility. Maintaining gym cleanliness, keeping valuables secured and reporting any misconduct will accomplish this.
- Regular attendance is essential to success. Frequent absences undermine and disrupt training regimens/cycles. Gymnasts shall always strive to be punctual for training, competitions or activities ensuring they inform coaching staff of any anticipated absences.
- Athletes shall inform coaching staff of any injuries or illness.
- Gymnasts shall not enter or utilize the facility equipment without proper supervision or permission.
- Dynamo reserves the right to immediately and effectively address inappropriate behavior including breaches of the Code of Conduct. Parent Code of Conduct:
- Parents or Guardians shall treat athletes, families, visitors and members with courtesy, respect and understanding.
- Parents or Guardians shall ensure athletes are punctual for their training sessions.
- Parents or Guardians are encouraged to ensure athletes bring a nutritious snack or meal.
- Parents or Guardians shall notify coaching staff of any anticipated absences.
- Parents or Guardians shall inform coaches of any medical concerns or injuries that may affect training.
- Parents or Guardians shall not enter gym without consent however viewing an athlete’s progress is encouraged from the lounge.
Staff Code of Conduct:
- Coach and administrative staff shall always strive to maintain a respectful, courteous and positive environment for athletes, parents, volunteers or visitors.
- Coach and administrative staff shall always keep the athlete’s best interests first and foremost when delivering any program or making any operational decision.
- Staff shall ensure the adherence of code of conduct expectations and enforce any breaches in a timely, fair and equitable manner.
- Coach and administrative staff shall be punctual, productive and professional at all times.
Membership Qualification:
- Membership with Dynamo Gymnastics is a privilege. Memberships may be revoked should a member fall into financial arrears or fail to follow Dynamo Gymnastics Codes of Conduct
